A note from the artist

I’ve always been interested in how we recognise the body. If you isolate a shoulder, a hand or part of a back, it almost becomes something abstract. I started photographing different parts of the body and arranging them alongside geometric forms, wondering whether composition alone could change the way we read a familiar shape.

This print isn’t about hiding the body or defining it. It’s about shifting perception. The geometry interrupts what we expect to see, allowing the body to become pattern, rhythm and colour rather than simply an image of itself.

I like that the scarf continues this process. Every fold reveals a different relationship between the forms, so the artwork is never experienced in exactly the same way.
